L'Appel de la forêt  (titre original : The Call of the Wild)  avec Michelle Mercier (actrice française), Charlten Heston. est un film britannique réalisé par Ken Annakin en 1972. Il s'agit d'une adaptation du roman de Jack London.

Ce conte classique de Jack London est situé dans le Yukon à la  période de ruée vers l'or de 1890 et concerne l'histoire de John Thornton ( Charlon Herston ) , son compagnon Pete et le remarquable chien alsacien Buck qu'ils acquièrent dans le cadre d'un rassemblement de chien. De nombreuses aventures se produisent avant le point excitant de la légendaire avec la mine d'or de Yellow Moon où buck trouve sa vrai destinée.
Jack London's classic tale is set in the  Yukon of the 1890's gold rush period and is concerned with the story of John Thornton (Charlon Herston), his companion Pete and the remarkable Alsatian dog Buck they acquire as part of a dog team. Many adventures occur before the exciting climax at the legendary Yellow Moon gold mine where buck finds his real destiny.
